He is a long time practitioner of the Vivekananda Kendra (SVYASA) teachings, Banglore, INDIA since year 2000.
Abhishek teaches different styles of yoga along with a special style from Vivekananda Kendra (SVYASA) Banglore, which he personally calls “Yoga Sukham”, especially focused on respiration and breath holdings, mainly emphasizing on alignment, developing suppleness, stability and strength. He has been teaching therapeutic yoga for many ailments and neurological rehabilitation in hospitals at India.
One of the things that sets Dr Abhishek apart from most yoga teachers is his intense interest of combining Drishti’s (Gazing and Eye positioning), Mudras (Finger positioning), Pranayama (Breath control) and meditation along with Asana (Yoga Postures). He practices and executes verities of meditations including Relaxation techniques.
Dr Abhishek is fascinated with the human body; his understanding of Human anatomy and physiology derived from his professional education leads him to explain pre and post effects of each yogic practice. As a master of various disciplines in yoga, extensive knowledge of acupuncture, Physiotherapy, Reflexology and Sports medicine aids in his teachings a more real, practical and scientific flavor.
Dr Abhishek believes that the physical practice of yoga (Asana) is meant to bring the body to place where mind will finally become quite; allowing the essential nature of the person to be reveled therefore opens you up and allows the inner practitioner to be externalized. Your practice is the “Essence” of you and a chance to become a part of something greater than yourself…..
“He extensively encourages his students to use yoga as a vehicle to reduce stress, tension and increase happiness and personal awareness”
